12 Days of Drinkmas: Manhattans & Man(tle)scaping
Do you get it?
Man-tle-scaping?!? TY and I love a good pun, a stiff drink, and a well-decorated fireplace mantle so we present a video that provides all three things! The 12 Days of Drinkmas are going strong and we’d love it if you’d follow along here on the blog and on our Instagram.
But first, check out the video and below that we have the tips for Man(tle)scaping and the Manhattan recipe.
Tips on Mantlescaping
Start from a clean palette. Remove all the things on/above the mantle and dust it.
Think of a theme!
Use fireplace style as inspiration.
Choose a vibe or color scheme.
Add a focal point.
This is the big item that goes on the wall above the mantle.
Can be: Artwork, photos, wreaths, pendant strings, anything that fits the theme and is eye-catching
Add natural elements.
Greenery, rocks, crystals (I’m into it), antlers, pine cones. The list goes on forever.
We suggest a mixture of candles, fairy lights, and christmas lights.
If you want to be baller, add oil lamps - just be careful of the fire hazard.
Add personal touches.
Pictures of loved ones, christmas memories, snow globes, and ornaments that have special meaning.
Don’t worry about making it too perfect.
Try different things and edit the mantle.
2 oz bourbon
1 oz sweet vermouth
6 dashes of bitters
Maraschino Cherries (Ours are homemade! Let us know if you’d be interested in a tutorial)!
In a mixing glass, pour in bourbon, sweet vermouth, bitters. You can also add ice or pour over ice like we did in the video above.
Pour into two glasses and sip with your buddy in front of your beautifully styled mantle.
Super easy huh?
We’d love to see your mantles and manhattans so be sure to tag us at @workkparty on Instagram if you try these DIYs.
