12 Days of Drinkmas: Tom Collins
TY here brining you Day 3 of DRINKMAS!
I consider the Tom Collins to be the boujee version of Gin and Tonic. Why? Rather than pouring Gin and Tonic over ice, the Tom Collins requires a little more effort. Like most things, a little more effort goes a long way. You'll also need a little more ingredients than just Gin and Tonic.
Like any alcohol theirs fans and haters, I happen to be a slight hater of Gin. By slight hater I mean, I stear clear away from it HA! I tease that Gin taste like liquid potpourri (yeah, I'll be over here drinking whisky, while KK drinks this gin). This ones for KK whom loves Gin.
Most of the classic cocktails for Drinkmas are simple with few ingredients. This cocktail is no different with ingredients you most likely have sitting around. SCORE! We like to keep things cost effective here at WORKKPARTY. The Tom Collins consist of Gin (obviously), carbonated water, simple syrup, lemon juice. Let's get our mix on!
Classic Tom Collins
1 oz lemon juice (fresh squeezed if possible)
2 oz carbonated water
1 1/2 oz Gin
1/2 oz simple syrup
In a mixing glass, pour in Gin, lemon juice, simple syrup. Pour over ice and top off with your carbonated water.
You can garnish with some lemon wedges, or something festive like I did with frozen cranberries.
The Tom Collins might have veered me off the path of hater of Gin (with enough lemon juice ;). If you like Gin though, give it a try and let us know what you think! Boujee version of a Gin and tonic or just more work without the reward?
Tell us your favorite or least favorite type of alcohol in the comments below. It could be a feature in a future cocktail!
