Lavender Whisky Sour

Lavender Whisky Sour

It's been a hot second since WORKKPARTY has shared a cocktail so without further ado *drum roll please* we present Lavender Whisky Sour

We love Whisky here at WORKKPARTY. So much so, KK had a whisky tasting birthday party a couple years back (great idea to sample various types of whisky). We might have to do that party again for the blog.

P.S. KK's birthday is coming up, which means this post is just in time for another celebration of BIRTHDAY MONTH!! We have all sorts of fun things planned, so keep up with us here and on Instagram!

In true TY fashion, I had to jazz up the original Whisky Sour with something. Trying to hold onto the last bits of Summer, I decided to add this seasonal herb. I used Lavender Doterra oil, the real deal of course could be used. Doterra oil is very (VERY) potent. My suggestion, if you do not want the lavender to overpower your whisky, is to make a simple syrup with the oil. Simple syrup is equal parts water and sugar. The oil directions say 1 drop per 4oz. For me, that is still strong so I use 1 drop per 8oz.

Lavender Whisky Sour

Serving size for two drinks **so double recipe for 2 people ;)

Ingredients

  • 3 oz of Whisky (2 shot glasses)
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 of a fresh lemon
  • 1 oz Lavender simple syrup

Lavender simple syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 drop lavender oil

Heat up water and sugar until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and add in oil when slightly cooled.

DRAANKS!

  1. In your cocktail shaker (keeping up with the PNW my shaker is a mason jar) mix egg white until frothy. **If your egg white is not mixed thoroughly it might coagulate when poured over ice.
  2. Once egg white is frothed, pour in remaining ingredients and mix (or shake).
  3. Pour over ice and garnish with lemon or fresh lavender.

This lavender whisky sour is the perfect note of citrus floral to wind down the last bit of summer. Tell us what you think of this concoction, or how you like to jazz up your whisky sours!

Let the birthday festivities begin!

Cheers,

 cheers
